More changes

I've added a tagboard for people to leave comments about 1106, and I've hidden the names of the films, so you can challenge yourself to guess what the movie is, and then move your mouse over the image to see the answer.

Current image count: 158

Another Guest Curator, More 1106s

Welcome aboard Paul Mavis, who has provided an 1106 of Two for the Road, bringing the total to 138 images at the moment, though my hard drive has a stack sitting on it waiting for me to add them in. You can see the WLegend at the top, which shows you how to tell who provided what 1106s.

I've also added links for Digg, Del.icio.us and StumbleUpon, for easy sharing of the site.

Thanks for checking it out.

1106 Museum breaks 100...and then 125

That's right, there's now more than 125 images in 1106, including people yelling, Hitler yelling, and at least one of the pointlessly random images I expected to get when I started.

Thanks for checking it out (if you do... otherwise, screw you.)

A New Meaning, A New Friend & Nudity

I've decided to change the definition of 1106, after some thought about what it is, in that I'm not really creating art, but instead finding and displaying it. So instead of describing 1106 as an art experiment, it's now a very specific museum.

We've got our first guest curator (see... museum thing works nice, right?) in the form of writer Jamie S. Rich, whose provided 1106s of Bloodhounds of Broadway and Two-Lane Blacktop. You can check out his site at http://www.confessions123.com/

Also, a milestone has been reached rather quickly, as the first 1106 with nudity has made it's way into the collection. A hint: it's a bit Weird.

Categories and Expectations

I've been surprised at how clean so many of the 1106 grabs have been. I expected more of the type I got from Borat than what I got from, say, Failure to Launch or Journey from the Fall.

I'm already seeing some categories emerge, like "People Driving," "Silly Faces," and "Looking Away." Unfortunately, I doubt that "Writing on Foreheads with Sharpies" will be too prevalent.

Wondering when the first nude 1006 will appear. Schoolgirl Report 2 came damn close.

Getting Started

1106 is in its larval stage currently, as I load in the first batch of screen captures. That means you'll see a lot of comedies represented to start, a) because that's the biggest aspect of my DVD collection, and b) I'm lazy and the comedies are in the top box of my collection.

Hopefully, as the site grows, people will check it out, and help the collection grow by submitting their own 1106s from their favorite films. But I won't hold my breath. Right now, I'm 1106's biggest (and only) fan.
